I received the following toys in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own.

It is Shark Week and I am sure there are some of you out there that look forward to this all year. While I am not an avid Shark Week follower there are still ways that my kids can get in on the fun and novelty of the week with Shark Week toys that will make them feel as though they are out there fishing for sharks.

Shark Week Toys

Shark Bite

If you prefer to keep the fishing indoors, the new game Shark Bite from Pressman Toys will have your kids trying to reclaim food from the shark’s mouth. But watch out, he could snap at any moment. In this game, players take turns rolling dice to see what they will be fishing out of the shark’s mouth. The player who gets the most creatures when the shark “attacks” is the winner of that round. It is a fun, easily portable game that requires NO batteries. It is a great game for smaller kids to help with their counting and motor skills as they try to hook a creature out of the shark mouth.

Rocket Fishing Rod

If you want to take the fishing outdoors, the Rocket Fishing Rod from Goliath Games will spark a whole new interest in your kids to go fishing. The “rod” looks like a riffle that you real in the hook and weight via the fishing line. I love that the hook is protected and less likely to get stuck on someone while casting. The Rocket Fishing Rod shoots the line out and when the safety bobber hits the water, the hook sinks down to catch a fish. My husband took the kids out one day and there were a lot less mishaps with the hook or bait flying off on the way to the water.

The Rocket Fishing Rod will be going with us on our fishing excursions from now on. The line is a fairly sturdy 8 pound line so my kids can hook the smaller fishes that are in streams and ponds without breaking the line as much. And hey it is fun to see the line shoot out across the water with a pull and a click!

So if you want to get your kids in on the Shark Week fun, head to Amazon and pick up these fun fishing toys, Shark Bite and Rocket Fishing Rod. We are giving away the Shark Bit game in honor of Shark Week. To enter, fill out the form below. Winner will be chosen on July 30th and notified by email. Must live in the US and be age 18 or older.

I love shark week but this is the first time in years that I haven’t enjoyed the majority of the coverage. I enjoy the episodes when they explore the deep ocean and discover rarely seen species
