I was first able to get my hands on the redesigned 2017 Nissan Pathfinder 4WD Platinum at the Texas Auto Writers Truck Rodeo. Upon first getting into the Pathfinder I was wowed by the feel of the leather and stunning design features. As the Nissan rep said, they did a minor major refresh getting back to a little more rugged of a look being capable of off-roading in the AWD while bringing a luxurious interior. The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is forging new paths to my heart and an off-road course near you.
You know how picky I am when it comes to SUV’s having third rows. The Pathfinder makes it easier for kids who need to get in the back with their second row seats that slide back and forth even while a car seat is installed. There is extra foot space so that you can climb in the rear without stepping on the back of the seat like some vehicles. While the storage on the rear cargo area isn’t the greatest, they put in an undercover storage area to give you just a bit extra “secret” storage space and with the third row down there is plenty for a smaller family. And my bins just might fit back there!!
Forging New Paths Off-Road
I was able to test the off-roading capabilities at the truck Rodeo and was impressed at how easily it handled all of the obstacles and was a smooth enjoyable ride throughout. This SUV is a beast, but nice enough to take out to the city for a night out. I mean I got this one literally right after truck rodeo and though the skid plate was a little scratched, you would never know that a bunch of journalists had just put it through a torture test on a ranch.
Of course I am a sucker for a panoramic sunroof and the one in the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder 4WD Platinum delivers on max view. The kids were a fan of the rear air controls like we have in our van. They are old enough to be able to reach and set the rear air to their preferences. Plenty of space for passengers in all the rows. The Almond interior color is a little risky when you have kids and spills, but I like that it is a nice neutral color. The exterior Gun Metallic is just the color that I would want!
The refresh that they have done on the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder brings this vehicle to a whole new level of comfort, luxury, and usability. It is forging new paths to streets near you.
