Recently I have posted a lot of spring cleaning tips, but one that we don’t always think about is making sure our appliances are performing well. Did you know that you should do this several times a year? Well with the plan that I am on with NRG Home Services they come out quarterly to check on the appliances that are covered for preventive maintenance so that they can catch a potential problem before it occurs. So how did my spring house checkup with NRG Home Services go?
First let me say that I appreciate that NRG calls about 30 minutes or so when the service tech is headed to your house. This is a great service since I kind of forgot what day they were coming and it was an early arrival so it gave me enough time to get up and get ready before the tech arrived. When he arrived he introduced himself and what all he was going to be looking at that day. A lot of our appliances are fairly new since we moved into our house less than 4 years ago. Our oldest appliances are the washer and dryer which we have had for about 6 years.
The whole check took about 30 minutes or so since we did have mostly newer appliances. He did find one thing wrong with the dryer, and under our plan the part and service are covered!! Holy wow… He ordered the part right from his tablet screen and within a couple of days they called back to replace the part. Best part is that the checkup and the part were no money out of pocket. If you own your own home and don’t think you need a service like home warranty then I would beg to differ with you as just this small part for our dryer may have gone unnoticed and could have caused us to possibly have to buy a whole new one down the road. A home is a big investment and you need to protect it.
You know this really gives me a peace of mind that my home is being looked after and that NRG will catch problems before they get too big. Up next is getting the A/C checked which is original to the house so that is something I have been worried about since we moved in.
