Stopain is a leading topical pain reliver brand. The active ingredient in Stopain is menthol, which is recognized by the FDA as an analgesic indicated for the temporary relief of minor pains and stiffness of arthritis, muscle aches, strains and simple backaches. Peppermint oil contributes to the pain relieving action of menthol and helps relax muscles, while eucalyptus oil helps to improve blood flow. Extra-Strength Stopain formulas are enhanced with glucosamine and MSM, essential to support joint health and mobility.
I have suffered from neck, jaw and back pain for quite some time now. I hate having to take either Tylenol or Advil everyday, sometimes several times a day. Most of the time I have to use some sort of topical pain relief in conjunction with a pain killer to feel somewhat normal and able to move my head and neck around. I really need to go back to the doctor and get my neck looked at in more detail to find what is really causing the pain. We had thought at one time it was my wisdom teeth, so I had them removed. All that solved was helping some of the mouth pain I had. The pain really wears on me and sometimes becomes overwhelming to where I just wan to crawl in to bed and stay all day. Now with two kids, a side business, and a blog..That is next to impossible. So I tough it out and just try to grin and bear it.
I have used several types of topical pain relievers and all have their pros and cons. I was sent the Stopain Cold 3oz. Roll-On Extra Strength to review. I went with the roll-on because I hate getting the medicine on my hands and worrying about if I got it all off before I touch my face, eyes, or anything else for that matter. It went on nice and easy. The menthol smell is quite strong, but it wasn’t stinky like some of them can be. It didn’t stain my clothes, which is another good factor. As far as the pain relief, I really like the cold sensation that it has and it helped to ease the pains I had in my neck. I put it on yesterday before I went to the dentist because I knew I would be laying in a not so comfortable position while getting some cavities fixed, and it helped my neck not be stiff when I left my procedure. One con to the Stopain Cold is that I wish it also had the heating sensation like some of the other topical pain relievers on the market. I need the warmth part to help relax the muscles more in my neck and jaw. It does do the job though as far as pain relief and easing my everyday neck pains.
