Sitting in an airport.. for hours…
That is how my trip to New Orleans started. I got to the airport in Houston at about 9:30 am… I made it to the hotel in New Orleans at 9:30 pm… More on this story later. So why was I going to New Orleans? To test drive the 2015 Lexus RC and Lexus RC F sports cars. This was going to be fun!!
Coming from a place where I drive a minivan and have for 5 years now, I am a little out of the loop when it comes to performance cars and what all they can do and how they handle, so this is an all new experience for me. Just upon walking up to the 2015 Lexus RC and RC F, I was immediately taken aback at their stunning chiseled body frames. It is cut out here and there at these sharp angles that believe it or not are more than just for looks. They are styled and sculpted to provide better airflow and aerodynamics for the vehicle. These cars are made to look and perform well on tracks, but still be functional for everyday driving. This coupled with the spindle grill in mesh black makes the Lexus RC and RC F quite the site on the road.
Sliding in, the seats hug your body. At first glance you wonder if it is going to be a comfortable fit and it just is…. The inside of the car is just as sleek and stylish as the outside. It is designed for the utmost comfort as well as functionality. I liked how the controls are set just right at your fingertips that make getting to various navigation screens easy and seamless.
I was rather excited to take the 5.0L V8 engine with 467hp engine for a bit of a spin. Momma has never been in a car with that kind of get up and go before 🙂 We first took a scenic drive around the city of New Orleans so we didn’t exactly push the speed. The car handled well and I dug how the steering wheel is firm and you can feel the car stick to the ground. And hey we got to stop by Loyola University which I had heard of but never seen in person. The Lexus RC F fit in to the beautiful architecture.
Later that morning we headed out to the Oak Valley Plantation which gave us the chance to see how the car handled on the open freeway. It did not disappoint! We were able to take turns and the tires hugged the road while they took them at decent speeds (no speeding I promise..) You could feel the race car just begging to come out.
Now from a soccer mom point of view.. this is a luxury fun car that isn’t meant to seat more than two people so not exactly practical for most families. But for those singles out there or those who want a fun play car that has the power behind the looks then this is for you. Or maybe it could be a great date night out car for mom and dad without kids in tow! These cars give you performance, sleek look, and functionality in a whole other level. The Lexus RC and F dominated the New Orleans roads and we got more than a few stares as we drove by!
Would you like to know more about the ins and outs of the car? Head over to read more about the 2015 Lexus RC and Lexus RC F. Thanks again Lexus for giving me a sneak peak and test drive.
It was great to see you in New Orleans. We need to do a beignet run again.
