Oh San Francisco. What an interesting, cool, busy, crazy place. I had not been there for about 10+ years so when I arrived for the Ford Trends Conference I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, but as I sat in the back of the shuttle vehicle I took in the sights. Realizing the highway we were driving on was the one I saw on TV during an earthquake many years ago that were collapsed on each other and Candlestick where I watched the baseball game as the earthquake started to hit. It was a little surreal to be driving on that same highway which now was super reinforced than it was many years ago. Of course there are always the classic sights of trolleys, Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz but San Francisco has so much to see and do and take in. it is one busy place as far as foot traffic let alone road traffic. You just don’t see that where I live or even that much down in Houston downtown. San Fran is a bustling city that just seems to almost be busting at the seams with people and buildings.
When I heard that we would be taking some Fords out on the roads as part of the Ford Trends Conference I was elated. Getting to drive a Ford any day puts a smile on my face, let alone to do it is new scenery and driving conditions. And boy does San Fran sure have some unique driving challenges. The first vehicle I took out with my drive partner Fred of Mocha Dad/ Mocha Man Style was of course a F-150. I am a Texas girl after all and I love a good truck. Now taking such a big vehicle on streets where mostly only cars and small cars at that travel was a new experience.
I was able to get some good shots of the stunning Ford F-150 as we went to a look out post to Alcatraz. I wish it had been less cloudy, but still cool to see nonetheless. After each checkpoint, we would head back to the Pier and switch vehicles with going to a different check points in the city. Getting close to the Coit Tower was the most fun since the street where we parked was almost completely vertical. Holy wow, but the Ford Edge took that hill like nobodies business.
We were able to take a Ford Escape out to the Golden Gate Bridge literally to a parking spot that was just under the bridge. Absolutely breathtaking views of the bridge and this was once that I loved the clouds partially taking over the scenery. We did get lost a bit on the way there and on the way back so we were only able to head out to one more of the stops, but this one was the most scenic and one I wanted to do the most.
Taking the Ford Mustang GT in Competition Orange color, top down.. of yeah!! Now this was the way to get around San Francisco. It was the perfect end to our time in CA. That baby can haul!! Though all the stop lights and stop signs in San Francisco prohibited some of the fun, you can just feel the power and horsepower trying to get out.
I will be sharing about the conference more soon and some of the exciting things that Ford is working on more than just cars and trucks.

Would have been great to take the convertible farther out fast San Fran – like Napa Valley!
I have always wanted to go to San Francisco and your photos capture the magic essence of its community life. Love the car too and a great post xox http://www.fadedspring.co.uk

I laughed when I read about the Ford F150. I still remember getting our F150 with an extended cab and 8 foot bed stuck in a parking lot. A landscaper guy helped me get it out of the parking spot.
I love the sporty orange color of the Mustang!
Wow! That’s a fun and unique way to tour a city, would love to visit SF!
Looks like y’all had a fabulous time! The top-down convertible looks like the perfect way to get around SF!
