Another fun holiday is coming upon us quickly and I for one am kind of excited because it is centered around chocolate! I just love making new treats and am always looking for new items to make my baking treats just that much more fun and special.

Peeps has released a line of Valentine marshmallow treats that are sure to make you smile. I received a package of some of the new treats including small and large hearts, chocolate mousse bears, sugar free hearts, and chocolate covered hearts. They will really get you in the holiday mood and with flavors like chocolate mousse, strawberry and vanilla creme there is really something for everyone’s tastes. Best part of all is these treats are gluten free, which means I can have them and make treats for my family with them 🙂

I was contemplating what I would do with them. I got in a baking order for cupcakes and got the great idea that I would use the Valentine Peeps to top my cupcakes. It is a really quick and simple way to make your cupcakes special. And of course they will also make your cupcakes just a little more scrumptious.

Another non eating way that you could use the Valentine Peeps is to take two vases of different sizes. One will need to fit inside the other one with at least 1/2-1″ space between the two. The outside vase will need to be clear to make this work. You can then take either the bears or hearts and slip them in between the two vases/jars. It is a simple and cute display for flowers or candles.

As I sit here and write this post, I keep getting more and more ideas of ways to use the Peeps. What is one way that you can think of to use them, besides of course just eating them.. haha. The smaller packages would be great to add a little card to and pass out for classroom Valentine treats.

Wishing you all a Happy Valentine’s Day and I hope it is deliciously sweet 🙂
