Bringing a new dog home is a fun and exciting time. There are lots of items that you will need to make sure your pooch will be comfortable in your new home. If you know someone that just got a dog I want to show you just what to get new dog parents as a welcome home gift.
What to Get New Pet Parents
- A collar is essential. The dog needs a place to have its’ and the owner’s name and number on a tag in case they ever get lost. And of course for when they go on walks.
- Leash. We like the ones that let you control how far away the dog can get from you.
- Shampoo and other grooming tools. If they have a dog that will shed then shed control shampoo and a de-shedding tool are a must.
- While they are out on their walks, the doggy trash bags and dispenser are more useful and easier to carry than just bringing a plastic grocery bag. We attach ours right to the leash.

- Water and food bowl mat. I love having a mat under my dog’s water and food bowl. It makes it less likely that the water will be spilled all over the floor and makes food cleanup easier.
