Last Sunday, we decided to head to the zoo for a family day. We tried to get there as early as possible since it gets unbearably hot here in Texas. Of course, getting 4 people out of the dressed, packed and out of the door doesn’t happen very quickly. Then on the way there, we almost ran out of gas.. Go figure…
We eventually make it there and meet my parents(Nonna and Pops) and have a great day looking at the animals. After about 2 hours, we had had enough and decided to leave. Not before we rode on the train thanks to little man! It was a great day and we wound up all taking naps when we got home.

I love watching my kids see all the animals, make their sounds, and learn little tidbits about them each time we go. We have a season pass, which is great to not have to pay each time and we can stay as little or as long as we like. I am definitely ready for it to be at least a little cooler so that we can stay longer and actually do picnics afterwards. I love having family time and just forgetting about the everyday worries for just a little bit!
