The summer is going by way faster than I thought it would. But we sure have had a great time and have many more fun plans ahead. Recently we headed to San Antonio for a family vacation and though it was so hot (Thanks Texas) we stayed cool in style with plenty of space in the 2015 Ford Expedition King Ranch Edition. We were going to be gone about 4 days and the kids have their own suitcases now so we would need plenty of room for luggage and food and stuffed animals. Seriously why does going on a trip feel like you are packing half of your house?
From my previous post about the Ford Expedition Platinum you will know that I love me some Expedition. This vehicle brings comfort and technology and class with every detail. The King Ranch logo is branded throughout. It is a brand that brings about the thoughts of hard work and dedication.
Since we only had the four of us going on the trip, we decided to put down the rear automatic third row seats. It is so much easier to push two buttons to fold down the seat versus having to pull lots of tabs and push seats down. We stuffed the back of the Expedition pretty full with food and luggage though we could have kept the seats up with the extended length feature. The extra space that the extended length brings makes a world of difference when you are traveling.
The kids enjoyed all the space of the second row. Their large car seats fit well with plenty of space in between for their snacks and DVD’s. There is a plug on their row as well so I didn’t have to plug the portable DVD player in the front and get tangled in the chords. We made it all the way to San Antonio with gas to spare, averaging around 17 mpg. The Ford Expedition King Ranch made the 4 hour drive a pleasure to drive and we were rocking out to Sirius XM.
My only complaint would be that this particular vehicle didn’t have a sunroof, But really that is the only complaint! The cooled front row seat feature was another lifesaver as the temps soared close to 100. Hubs was impressed with the comfort of the Expedition since he didn’t really get to ride in the last one. Oh if only it could stay in our driveway full time.
