Summer time and cruising go hand in hand. When we visited La Torretta Lake Resort and Spa we needed a ride that would hold our luggage as well as offer a great view as we drove. The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport delivered on the views.
The exterior of the vehicle was pretty attractive with the curved lines and smaller SUV look. Of course they sent it over in my favorite color combo 🙂 I liked that it is sporty without being overdone. The kids liked that they could get in and out of the vehicle easily since they are so used to my van and sliding doors.
The interior was fairly basic with their “premium” package. There is a touchscreen display for radio, XM, and other car settings. This particular vehicle did not come with navigation. The push button start is always a favorite of mine. No searching for keys and you can open thee outside door with just a click of the button on the door handle as long as the “key” is on your person. There are about 5 cup holders just in the front portion of the SUV, with another 4 in the rear. The kids liked the fold down center console in the back where they could put their drinks.
The star of the show was the panoramic sunroof. Now everyone from the front to the back of the vehicle can look out of the top. We rocked this all the way to the resort so we could start soaking up the sun on our drive. Why don’t all cars have this? It makes my heart happy when I don’t feel like I am enclosed overhead.
There was plenty of space in the cargo area for all of our stuff. We could have really made it a good time and more than just a weekend getaway.
I think my biggest hang up on this vehicle was the engine. It is a 4 cylinder CVT(Continuous Variable Transmisson). There just was no real power and go when you pressed the gas pedal. If they would change out the engine to something with more power then overall it would be a more desirable vehicle. It was a good ride though to the resort and errands throughout the rest of the week.
