I wasn’t sure what to expect when the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0 Turbo showed up in my driveway over the Thanksgiving holidays. I had only been in one Hyundai before and I wasn’t driving so I couldn’t really get a good feel of it or what amenities there were available on the different models. But when I slipped in to the seat for the first time. Oh yeah!! Let’s Do This kind of feeling came over me. This was the kind of SUV that I could see myself driving and one that fit well in our family.
The space and design was very similar to the Kia Sorento that I drove before, but a few different features that I really liked a bit more. I liked the command center in the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Everything I needed was within reach, there is a smart cubby by the USB plugs where the phone or keys can go since this one has a push button start. There is plenty of storage in this vehicle too. Enough to get all the supplies for our turkey dinner. I sure was hungry after doing a 10k Turkey Trot that morning.
Oh the panoramic sunroof was a huge hit with the kids as always. It is also good when you are stinky from running and have a long drive home.. haha With the 2.0 T engine this vehicle loved to go go go. I had been in a friends’ Santa Fe and was a little disappointed in it, but having this one with the power behind it and upgraded features made a huge impact on the way I saw the Santa Fe.
The kids had another favorite feature, the center seat has a fold down armrest with cup holders that can be put away when not needed. It makes for a sleeker look and since the armrest doesn’t come all the way down the kids can store some of their “stuff” underneath it. The center seat also folds down in case you have something big in the back without disturbing the two seats in the second row. That is something most SUVs don’t have.
Overall this is a great family vehicle that has all the essentials a family of four would need and more. The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0 Turbo changed the way I see Hyundai vehicles and I can’t wait to get my hands on another one!
