It is that time of year for the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. I have to admit that I have never been to the State Fair other than media days for the automotive side of things. One day I will take the kids up there. This year they have renamed the automotive side of the State Fair of Texas to be the Texas Auto Show. I mean what better name than for one of the biggest drawing attractions each year to Texas. Here are some of the highlights of what you can see at the 2017 Texas Auto Show.
Ram Trucks
Ram introduced a couple new packages that are perfect for the Texas truck crowd. 2018 Lonestar Silver Heavy Duty was unveiled. It is a Texas dedicated truck in 3/4 and 1 ton versions. Polished chrome accents all around set it off style wise. Priced under $45,000. 2018 Ram 1500 Lonestar Harvest Edition speaks to those farmers out there who need a truck to work as hard as they do. 6 color choices included Case Red and New Holland Blue to match farming equipment. Starting at just under $40,000. 31,200 max towing capability. The most luxurious and powerful truck the 2018 Ram Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition with more technology and refinement boasting 30K pounds towing capability was a show stopper. Real walnut wood accents throughout with 100% full grain leather. All around some great new packages that give Ram truck lovers even more options when it comes to what truck works best for them.
Chevrolet
Chevy is celebrating 100 years by showcasing three trucks in their new Centennial Special Editions. The 2018 Silverado and Colorado as well as a 1967 C10 Fleetside are outfitted in a throwback bowtie badging with a deep blue paint job that is classic and stunning. Man they did a great job on bringing back some nostalgia to the truck market especially with that C10. I can only imagine the stories that will be told from past C10 owners as they visit the Texas Auto Show.
Ford
Ford is also celebrating 100 years. With that they brought in their brand new high end 2018 Ford Super Duty Limited. It takes luxury for those who love the Super Duty line to a whole new level. Most luxurious and technologically advanced Super Duty they have ever made. New two bar grill satin with chrome accents, chrome tow hooks, and more chrome accents. The interior is loaded with comfort and style with authentic wood and leather materials, camelback two tone interior. Because it is so exclusive they each have their own serial numbers. Max towing is 32,500 pounds.
Fiat
The Fiat 500 lines are becoming mroe and more popular in the US and I think the new 2017 Fiat 500x Urbana will soon become a hot ticket item. Get a closer look at the Texas Auto Show with its blacked out wheels with copper center accents. It gives this spunky little vehicle a sleek look that I sure wouldn’t mind driving around. Available to order for starting at $24,195.
Nissan
As you may have seen Nissan came out with their newly updated Armada last year with several package options. Well they have taken it a bit farther with the 2018 Aramada Platinum Reserve which boasts even more luxury than you ever thought you would need in a vehicle while offering loads of space inside for larger families. It has Dark Chrome trim with 20″ dark chrome wheels, this styling just makes it look like a major luxury vehicle.
There are lots of other great new vehicles to check out including the Volkswagon Atlas or Toyota RAV4 or Tundras. There are vehicles staged inside like a typical auto show as well as outside. The Texas Auto Show runs at the State Fair of Texas until October 22nd. Make plans to head to Dallas and see it all!
