 Summer is just a few weeks away (well it already feels like summer here in Texas) and I know that we will be at the pool a lot! So to stay ahead of the game a bit and not have to hear the “I’m hungry mom” as soon as we walk in the door, I have been thinking up some recipes for quick summer snacks that the whole family can enjoy. My whole prep time was just about 20 minutes from start to finish..more if you count going to the store. 

First things first… You have to make sure your fridge, freezer and pantry are stocked so summer snacks are easily accessible to you and the kids. This is where Sam’s Club comes in to play so that you will spend more time at the pool and less time running errands this summer. Tyson Panko Chicken Nuggets should be high on the priority list. With the new panko crust, you and your kids will both like them. Then grab some fruit a few spices and you are ready for summer snacks. 

Next, I highly recommend making my triple dipping sauces: Sweet and Spicy Hot Wing, Creamy Garlic Herb, and Cinnamon Honey. Hey don’t knock the last one until you try it. Dipping my nuggets in honey has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. All three sauces are good for nuggets as well as some crisp carrots or celery. 

Sweet and Spicy Hot Wing Sauce

1/2 cup favorite hot sauce
2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
1-2 Tablespoons Honey

Stir all three together and dip dip dip

Creamy Garlic Herb 
1/2 cup sour cream
1-2 tsp Garlic/Herb Blend Seasoning

Mix together and again dip dip dip

Cinnamon Honey  
1/2 cup honey
1 tsp cinnamon

Stir and enjoy

What I love is that each of these sauces is ready in a matter of minutes while your nuggets are baking in the oven. Make it even faster by microwaving the nuggets, but I prefer the oven so they get good and crispy. That is my favorite part is when the panko coating gets crunchy and yummy.  And don’t be afraid to mix the dipping sauces together on your plate. The creamy garlic herb cools your mouth after dipping in the sweet and spicy wing sauce, then finish it with a few dunks in the cinnamon honey. These triple dipping sauces will make you and the kids happy that summer is here and snacks are ready quickly.
