It is not easy to get kids to take medicine. Especially when they are younger, as soon as they see that syringe of medicine they wiggle, fuss and scream. I have used a lot of tactics to try and get them to take their meds. One that has worked, but I don’t like doing often is giving them a sucker and then slipping the syringe in at the same time. One that I really don’t like doing is holding their face and trying to pry open their mouths, but sometimes they just won’t budge.
So what can we as parents use to get our kids to take their medicine easier and with less mess? Well, Ava the Elephant could be your answer. What is Ava the Elephant? It is an adorable plastic elephant head that can make taking medicine fun for your kids.
Simply slip your medicine dropper in the back, press the button for the sound, have your child hold Ava, then dispense. Super cute idea and the kids just love that it is an fun animal to look at while taking their medicine.
