Finding foods that fuel and hydrate your body pre and post workout can definitely be a guessing game. Everyone is different in their needs and your own needs can differ from day to day depending upon what you are doing. Take me for example: some days I do crossfit type workout with my trainer, some days I run, some days I don’t do anything 🙂 So I need to fuel and hydrate in different ways on different days and I will admit that I am never consistent with my eating. It is something I struggle with on a daily basis. I want to share a few products that are good resources for fueling and hydrating your body pre and post workout:
Nth Degree Sports Performance Drink
- features palatinose the “next generation sugar”
- provides a more balanced glucose supply
- B vitamins
- provides a balance of electrolytes that can be lost in sweat
Nth Degree Sport Water
- Great taste with no calories or carbs
- Essential electrolytes, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and sea salt (sodium)
- Vitamins B3, B5, B6, and B12
- No artificial colors or dyes
- No artificial sweeteners
- No preservatives
- Flavors: Mixed Berry, Citrus Punch, and Blueberry Pomegranate
These are great to have on hand for hydrating and rehydrating your body when you are pushing your physical limits. Much better alternative than those drinks filled with HFCS or loaded with sugar that will just make your blood sugar spike then plummet. Lola Granola Bar The only bar sweetened with just honey and, gluten free oats is expanding nationwide. The snack bars are packed with all natural proteins, fiber and omega 3’s, are low in sodium and contain absolutely no GMOs. Lola Granola Bars ingredients are locally sourced including Massachusetts Cranberries, New Jersey Blueberries, New York Honey and Gluten Free Oats. Each of the 5 flavors contains 8 core, all natural, non GMO ingredients. Unlike many bars on the market, Lola Granola does not add any rice, wheat, corn or soy fillers, hydrogenated oils or refined sugar. All bars are gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and kosher. They taste great and kids love them in their backpacks. They are really great for on the go especially now that school is back in session and I don’t have as much time in the morning to eat much. I also like keeping a couple in my race bag so that I can have one after a run or long race to refuel.

What I really like for fuel are those flavored gels. (I”m not sure what the brand name is.) They’re especially good for bike rides because they’re compact.
I like the nuun tablets in my water after I run
