The holiday season is in full swing and now you have to think about gifts for all ages. I want to share with you some gift ideas for toddlers and older age kids that you can add to your shopping cart. Some are classic games that my kids have played with for years and some are brand new to the market. Either way you will find toys that are great gift ideas for toddlers and older kids alike.
Do your kids love dinosaurs? Do they love building things and letting them crash down? Then I think they would love Domino Junior Friends from Goliath Games. It takes the classic game of lining up dominos just to watch them fall and adds in some dinosaur friends to make it just that much more fun when the dominos tumble. It comes with an easy to use spacer tool to help your little ones stack the dominos. It helps them to learn how to be a little more careful with their toys as they try and stack their dominos so they will fall just right. They can learn how to make patterns with the different colors as well as how much they make their domino pattern curve and move. This is geared towards kids age 4 and up.
The Lucky Ducks Matching Game from Pressman Toys is a darling pond shaped game where little ducks with certain shapes “float” around the pond. Kids are to try and find ducks with their certain shape. If the duck they choose isn’t their shape they put it back. Other players are to remember where that duck was put down so they can pick it up and complete their own set. It helps kids learn shape and color recognition. It is geared for kids age 3 and up. This would be a good game to have in a preschool to help your kids start learning their shapes and colors and to just have fun picking things up with their little hands!
Do your little ones like to fish? Let’s Go FIshin’ is a fun game where your kids can learn how to fish without all the water mess!!! The game comes with tiny plastic fishing rods and kids can fish out certain colors of fish. It helps teach your kids hand/eye coordination as the fish mouths open and close. It is geared for ages 4 and up, but I think even my class at preschool could handle doing some of it as we talk about colors. This game is even great to take in the car for long trips.
Green Toys: Elmo Explores Outdoor Activity Set
Do you want to get your kids outside playing? Have a little one that likes to help in the garden? The Green Toys Elmo Explores Outdoor Activity Set is the perfect gift for your budding garden helper. It includes a bucket, rake, shovel, and activity guide. Green Toys are made from 100% recycled plastic, dishwasher safe, and made in the USA. I often got my kids their own smaller sets of garden tools for when I had a backyard garden. They would help dig holes, discover worms, and ask more about the things I was planting. It was a way for them to connect with the food or other plants when they got hands on experience with them. It also helped them discover so much more about nature and keep them away from screens.
Blind bags and surprise toys are a big thing right now in the toy world. Lil Fairy Land Cuties are these fun little packages that your child can unwrap and discover surprise fairies inside. Each layer that gets unwrapped has stickers, hair accessory, and eventually they find their surprise fairy. Each fairy has a story and personality that can resonate with so many different kids. I love that it helps foster pretend play as to where the fairies will go today and help kids explore what makes them who they are.
One more to add to the surprise inside toy list is scented Bananas. Did you just sing the Gwen Stefani song too? Ha. These cute little peelable toys come in singles or sets of three where your kids can “peel” to reveal little surprises inside the Bananas of a Crushie character, gemstone stickers, and a vine for them to hang from. The Bananas can connect to carry around all of the characters inside them as well. Super cute toy and fun collectible!
