I was invited to a preview night where I got to taste some of their dishes at La Bikina. All thoughts in this post are my own.
Have you been looking for a more authentic upscale Mexican food restaurant? One that brings in traditional Mexican flavors with a modern fun and you live in or near The Woodlands, Tx??
Grupo Impulza, an innovative restaurant and entertainment group based in Mexico announced they are opening one of their most recent successful concepts under the name of LA BIKINA. This will be the first location in the U.S. for the group who owns more than 84 restaurant and bar concepts throughout 24 States in Mexico during the last 10 years of successful track record. LA BIKINA’s name is tribute to the famous Mexican song that celebrates the invincible women who changed history during the revolutionary days in Mexico. The colorful, teal mosaic tiles that cover the floor are signature to LA BIKINA’s décor and are highlighted by marble top tables and traditional Mexican artwork. LA BIKINA is located in The Woodlands, minutes away from the Market Street dining and entertainment district.
Now I will start by saying that finding things in The Woodlands can be a little hard at times since they like to cover up that there are stores and restaurants, but once you find La Bikina you will feel like you are taken in to a rich and luxurious world. The 120 seat restaurant greets you will dark wood accents throughout. Pair that with the gold warm tones on the chairs as well as their uniquely designed flooring and you will want to immediately sit and begin exploring the menu.
Start first with one of the delicious margaritas or Spiced Horchata with mango and tamarind flavors, but if that is not your scene they have a full bar to choose from. By far our favorite dish of the evening was the Tacos Al Pastor. It is a roasted beer braised pork that is paired with fresh lime and their sauce complimented it so well. I can’t wait to go try out more of the menu!
So if you are looking for something new and that will have your taste buds transported to old Mexico, then I highly suggest you go try out La Bikina. It is now open for Lunch and Dinner, and open until 2 am weekends. Reservations can be made on their website.
