I haven’t been the best about getting my running in lately. I have had the desire, but not always the time to get it done. Last week was crazy busy between VBS, karate and soccer camp all for my son. I was constantly in the car and just had no time to myself. I also had a bad stomach bug last sunday so that set me back a bit too last week.

This week, I am feeling better and ready to get my booty in gear. I am still figuring out my food issues(especially with gluten) and am a little frustrated with it all but really have the desire to get my fitness back on track.

I tried running outside last week at 5 am and was sweating so bad and could barely breathe because the humidity was so thick. So I have had to do what little running time I have done on the treadmill. I don’t mind too much though. Since I am down to just my own two kids and they are more self sufficient, I can run any time of the day despite the heat outside.

Today was Day One of Insanity. It was just the fit test, but man it sure showed me how out of shape I really am 🙂 I am so exited to try out this new program and see how I progress over the course of the next 60 days.  I just needed to try something different as well as strengthen my body to help my running improve as well. I am not going to focus on my weight, but just focus on how I feel and how it will make me healthier and stronger.

What are you doing to make yourself healthier and stronger this summer?

Glad you are slugging through the setbacks. It is hard when it is not easy. My issue this week is allergies with one tree in particular in a one-month pollen spasm in our area – I need to hit the treadmill to get some distance in as well. Thanks for the inspiration!

I feel you on the sick part. I have sick for almost three weeks and it makes it so hard to run. Good job doing the running the treadmill. I love the daily mile widget that you have!

Insanity! I haven't been brave enough to try that yet. I look forward to hearing how it is! I am missing my running, but hope to have my treadmill and elliptical accessible in another few weeks. It's too hot here to run as well, though we don't have the humidity. Take care of yourself!
