Our family has been a fan from the get go of movies like Cars and now Planes. They are on constant repeat at our house and I am ok with that 🙂 Well, they have done it again and released Planes: Fire and Rescue.

“Planes: Fire & Rescue” is a new adventure-comedy about second chances, featuring a dynamic crew of elite firefighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfire. When world-famous air racer Dusty (voice of Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with veteran fire-and-rescue helicopter Blade Ranger (voice of Ed Harris) and his courageous team, including spirited air tanker Dipper (voice of Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter (voice of Wes Studi), ex-military transport Cabbie (voice of Captain Dale Dye) and a lively bunch of brave all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero. Directed by Bobs Gannaway (“Secret of the Wings”) and produced by Ferrell Barron (“The Fox and the Hound 2”), “Planes: Fire & Rescue” hits theaters in 3D on July 18, 2014.

What we thought:

My kids were flying with Dusty from the beginning. They loved watching it in 3D. It makes you feel as though you are flying in the air and really soaring through the sky. Now I am not going to go in to specific details of the movie, because hey you need to see it for yourself.. But.. You will be kept amused by some really funny one liners all throughout the movie. I like that this isn’t just a funny movie, it is more on the serious side and will teach your kids how amazing it is to be brave and what firefighters go through on a daily basis to keep us safe even when they don’t always have the most up to date technology and funding that they need. I like that it also teaches that we need to step outside our comfort zone at times, do something and be someone that we never thought we would. Sure the big career and fame might be great, but doing something that takes bravery and can help save your friends and family is what is needed.

“Life doesn’t always go the way you expect it. But you came here to become a firefighter. If you give up today, think of all the lives you won’t save tomorrow.”
— Blade Ranger, “Planes: Fire & Rescue”

We really loved the characters introduced in this movie and loved how they were not just silly and superficial like some movies can be. Awesome movie and I highly recommend you go and see it! Adults will love it just as much as the kids did!
