Having a mom who is in the medical field, I have seen throughout the years what all she does for people who are hurting, broken, and in need of healing. It takes a certain kind of heart to work in the medical field and give of your self so much everyday to those who are in need. They should be honored each and every day for what they do and sometimes with long hours and not enough pay.
Save the Children has announced the launch of The REAL Awards, a first-of-its-kind global awards program designed to develop greater respect and appreciation for health workers and the lifesaving care they provide globally, as well as in the United States.
We tend to idolize celebrities, actors and singers each year with huge award shows, why are we not doing the same thing for those who are in the medical field and help to save lives day in and day out?
The public can read the inspirational stories of the international REAL Awards honorees and nominate a health worker in the United States at www.theREALawards.com until November 29, 2012. Winners will be announced the week of January 13, 2013 during a time when much of the American public is tuning in to traditional entertainment awards shows such as the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.
