What books did you like reading when you were a kid? Did you have any favorites that you held on to for your kids to be able to read when they were old enough? I remember reading lots of books when I was younger and wish I had held on to some especially for my daughter.
One that my husband remembers reading was The Boxcar Children series by Gertrude Chandler. The first book in the series was published around 1942!! How amazing is that! The books tell a story about 4 kids who have lost their parents and instead of going to live with their grandfather, they decide to head out on their own. The adventures and mysteries that unravel will make you keep reading more and more.I can’t wait until my kids are old enough to read and understand and love these books. We have nightly reading time and I am sure that this will soon be added to our lineup.
