Soccer is my life for about 6 months of the year. It wasn’t too bad when we only had one kid playing, but now that we have two playing with extra practices then our schedule revolves around soccer games. I wanted to share with you a bit about a day in the life of a soccer mom. It is not overly glamorous, it is often really hot, but it is fun to see my kids play and grow in the sport of soccer.

Before my day starts, I head to Walmart for “snackation“. I keep my pantry and fridge stocked during soccer season because my kids eat so much more than they usually do since they run a lot during soccer. Walmart has the items I need to keep my kids hydrated and bellies full.

Smucker's Fruit Fulls

I put a couple of the Smucker’s Fruit Fulls in the freezer. With being frozen they serve as a cold snack for my kids and since it is still so hot here in Texas, having them frozen helps cool my kids off. They love the fruity burst of flavor and mommy loves the easy to clean up pouches.

The morning of our soccer games I pack up the snack bag and off we go. One of the best tips I can give you is have one bag that holds the ball, cleats, shin guards, bug spray, and sunscreen. I also have one of the collapsible wagons which makes carting gear to the fields so much easier. I put the soccer bag, snack bag, and chairs inside and off we go. My husband has to work on Saturdays so having an extra hand or wagon is a huge help. I usually can just lift the wagon in and out of the van without having to take all of the stuff out.

Since the kids play on different teams, one is usually by me and wanting to eat while they wait for their game or after they have already played. My daughter loves the Jiff to go packs. She will eat it just with a spoon, but sometimes likes to dip celery or pretzels in it. My son is more of sandwich fan. The Smucker’s squeezable grape jelly and Jif Whips makes for an easy sandwich so I just need to remember bread and a disposable knife or spoon. He can make his own sammies while I watch my daughter play.

After the games we usually stop by and get a sno cone. The A/C and cold ice is a welcome treat.

What snacks do you take with you to the ball fields? Stop by Walmart for all your “snackation” needs.
