How much do you love to use bananas in recipes? Banana bread, banana pudding, bananas foster… Drool…. How about pairing bananas with some ingredients that maybe you hadn’t thought of before. Chiquita wants you to test out your recipe making skills and pair some ingredients together and share your recipe for the chance to win up to $4,000 at the Chiquita Cooking Lab contest. I decided to give it a try and came up with Banana Pecan Pumpkin Pie Parfait.
Start by heading to Chiquita Cooking Lab, on the right side of the page, you will see a box that says scratch here to reveal ingredients. Each week there will be two new ingredients plus Chiquita Bananas as ingredients that you must use in a recipe. The next step is coming up with a recipe using the three ingredients. There are new ingredients each week. If you have a recipe using those ingredients, fill out the form with all ingredients needed, the directions for making whatever treat you come up with, then submit.
If Chiquita loves your recipe, you could be that week’s 1 out of 5 winners. There will be 4 first place winners that will receive a Chiquita Prize Pack, then a Grand Prize winner who will receive $4,000!! Wow that would be amazing to win.
Here is the recipe I submitted:
- 2 Chiquita Bananas, sliced
- 1-2 cups Pecans, chopped
- 1-2 cups Vanilla Yogurt
- Baked Pumpkin Pie
- This is an easy layering dessert. They can be made in individual servings or a big bowl for a party. The best dish so you can see the layers is a glass tall cup or bowl.
- Start with scooping some of the baked pumpkin pie first, crust and all..YUM
- Layer with yogurt, sliced bananas, and pecans.
- Keep layering until all ingredients are used and ending with pecans on top.
- This can be customized in so many ways and would be great for using up leftover desserts after the holidays!!
