Life is so busy being a mom, and there are times I just want to have a “mommy time out”!!! I was able to do just that with Mamavation  at Fitcation where we visited Paso Robles and a few neighboring towns, vineyards, and more. Paso Robles is a long way from Houston!

After a long day of travel and some fun stops with some fabulous girlfriends, we arrived and were greeted by the fabulous Leah Segedie and our abundant swag bags courtesy of some fabulous companies. The main sponsor SIP the Good Life really wanted us to come and enjoy our time in this quaint town and discover all that Paso Robles has to offer. We were sent off to explore the town square. The General Store was so adorable and I just loved the hometown feel you get when you walk in the door.

We dined among artwork at Studios on the Park with food catered by Fig Good Food and wines from several companies that are SIP Certified. What is SIP Certified, you ask? It is a process that more and more wineries are going through to show that they use practices to be as sustainable as possible. It is not just about the wine itself, it is about the workers, soil, vineyards, waste, and more. Read more on their website and see if you can spot the seal πŸ™‚

The next day we started with a boot camp work out courtesy of Erin from Dig Deep Play Hard. It was more than this lady could handle.. haha We then headed to Castoro Cellars Winery for our first wine tour. It was breath taking to say the least. Walking in under a canopy of grape vines was so cool. It just takes you away from all the busyness of life and you can relax.

After lunch, we headed to Pasolivo Olive Oil Company for a tour of the olive trees. By the way, don’t eat the raw olives πŸ™‚ Now what you think they would taste like. It was cool to be able to see where something that I use in my everyday life comes from and how they process it. They also have a tasting room where you can try different spices, salts, and of course olive oils. Such a cool experience. Of course I had to buy some.

Next we headed to Halter Ranch Wineries. You really feel like you have stepped on a ranch as soon as you drive in. We walked over their wooden bridge to tour the vineyards and really become a part of history under their 600 year old tree. All I can say is WOW! Their state of the art wine making facilities blended machinery and nature so seamlessly. We then headed back to dine in the barn courtesy of Earth Footwear.

We were treated to a lovely dinner, followed by foot rubs and NEW SHOES!! I mean really… How cute are these shoes??!! We were able to get a peak at their fall and spring lines. We all had to wipe our drool πŸ™‚ And of course we had some vino from Halter Ranch to round out the evening.

The following day we headed out early to tour the absolutely amazing Hearst Castle. It was so breathtaking and so cool to learn what all it went in to making this huge house. So much detail to take in that you could spend all day and probably still not see everything.

Next was lunch by the beach and a little yoga. I will admit I skipped the yoga because I was just too cold. I am from Texas and so not used to cold. We then got to go kayaking in Morro Bay. It was chilly but so much fun and much more work than I thought. Dinner was in downtown San Luis Obispo at Eatz. SLO is a fun little town that you can walk and explore all their shops. It was a great ending to a fun trip.

Thanks to all the fabulous sponsors that made this trip possible and the new and renewed friendships. If you ever want a getaway to discover some fabulous wineries and cute towns, then I highly recommend Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo area.
