My kids are both playing soccer right now, so that means practice once week for my daughter, twice a week for my son, and two games on Saturdays. Having snacks on hand while we travel in the car and sit at the fields is a necessity. I like to make sure that I always have food for my kids and myself to eat on the way to practice and in between games on Saturdays. They run and run and need to fuel their tiny bodies. Walmart has become my go to place to keep our snack bag stocked and offer variety and items that travel well.

Snackation at Walmart

I am going to walk you through a typical shopping trip for me at Walmart and the products I like to keep on hand for getting our snackation on at Walmart for our soccer season.

-Peanut Butter: My kids have a slight obsession with peanut butter and Jif is a family favorite. I like to take the Jif To Go Dippers with us so that the kids can either eat the peanut butter straight out of the cup or they can dip pretzels or celery in it. Much less mess in the car and at the field. If we have back to back games on Saturdays and can’t leave for lunch, I take the Jif Whips and Squeezable Smucker’s Grape Jelly to make sandwiches at the fields.

-Smucker’s Fruit Fulls: These are so great and less mess with the squeeze pouch. It gets my kids some fruit. I sometimes freeze them so that they defrost while at the field and the kids gets a cold snack.

– Hydration: Water and Gatorade there really can never be enough in our bags. We live in Texas and it is still really hot, after an hour of running they needs lots of liquid.

-Ice Packs: I like to have plenty of reusable ice packs so that my drinks stay cold without making a huge puddle mess in the bottom of our cooler.

-Chips, Crackers, Bread for dipping or making sandwiches

-Celery, carrots, and other fruits that are portable

-Napkins: Kids are messy let’s face it so they need something to wipe their hands on. Some hand sanitizer as well is a smart idea.

Walmart helps me get through soccer season without breaking the bank and has products my kids love and keeps them going as we spend many hours at the soccer fields.
