Christmas is over and we are now in the part of year where no one knows what day or time it is. But we do know that New Year’s Eve is coming up quickly. Do you have plans that night? If you are having a party or going to one then you need to make these cute New Year’s Eve Countdown Cupcakes. They are simple to make, but oh so cute.

New Year’s Eve Countdown Cupcakes

What’s Needed

  • 12 Cupcakes
  • 12 Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (Oreo or any off brand will work)
  • 1 Cup Chocolate Melting Disks
  • 1 Container of Vanilla Frosting
  • Gold and Silver Sugar
  • Nonpareil and Gold Star Sprinkles

Directions

  • With a piping bag or knife, frost all the cupcakes. Sprinkle each cupcake with sugar and sprinkles.

  • Melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals until melted. Make sure to stir each time you check it. Place melted chocolate in a small baggie and cut the corner just a tiny tiny bit.

  • Take your sandwich cookie and split apart. You only need the side with the cream. The other side is snack while you are making them 🙂
  • With your chocolate, pipe on the clock numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9. Then draw a little second and minute hand pointing at any of the numbers. Place clock on the cupcake and push down a little so it stays put.

  • Eat up and countdown the hours until the New Year’s Eve ball drops!

What other things do you like to make to help countdown the hours until the New Year?
